All professional women in the DC area are invited to play in the Get in the Game Basketball Tournament on Saturday, March 20th. Games will be played at St. Albans School in DC from 9:00am – 1:30pm.



ALL abilities are welcome -- the goal is to get everyone out on the courts to have a good time. The cost is $20 for current full time law/grad students and $30 for professional women. Make sure to register early as prices will increase by $10 the week of the tourney. Fees include refs, scorekeepers, gym space, commemorative t-shirt, a light breakfast, and a pizza party.

WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT?

The first "Get in the Game" Lady Lawyers Basketball Tournament, held at Georgetown University in April 2006, was a remarkable success that soon spurred weekly "Lady Lawyers Leagues," open gyms and tournaments in Washington DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento and New York. Building on the enthusiasm of the over 600 Lady Lawyers and Professional Women who have been involved in the first four years, Get in the Game: Sports for Women has become a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization, with a focus on providing athletic, networking and mentoring activities for lady lawyers, law students and professional women throughout the country, with net proceeds going to support charitable organizations focused on assisting underserved girls and women.

WHAT TIME WILL THE GAME BE?

Registration will begin at 8:15am with the first game tipping off at 9:00am. Games are tentatively scheduled to run until 1:00pm.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PARTICIPATE?

The cost for the tournament is $20 for law/grad students, $30 for professional women for "early bird" registration. Prices will increase by $10 the week of the tourney. Firms can also sponsor teams (email us for more info).

I HAVENT PLAYED IN YEARS/IHAVEN'T PLAYED EVER. WHAT WILL THE LEVEL OF COMPETITION BE LIKE?

ALL levels of experience are welcome. We will work to create balanced teams, and there's no better way to learn than to just get in the game!

WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH PLAYERS FOR A TEAM FROM OUR COMPANY/GROUP OF FRIENDS.br>
No problem! We'll match you up with other interested individuals to form a complete team. There is no need to have a pre-formed team.

WE HAVE AN ENTIRE TEAM OF CO-WORKERS/FRIENDS...CAN WE PLAY TOGETHER?

That's great that you have so much interest! We may have to add a few ladies to your team (or break you up a bit depending on how many gals you have) but we will do our best to accommodate your group.
